        At the
time of Nathan’s passing, he was on the verge of receiving
a dual degree in Mechanical Engineering and Economics at
Queen’s University. In May of 2002, the University
posthumously awarded Nathan the degrees he was poised to
achieve. Nathan enrolled at Queen’s in 1996, and lived
with his childhood friend Oskar Johansson. Together, they
joined the Queen’s Sailing Team, achieved high academic
standing, promoted the well-being of the University, coached
        sailing, and in
collaboration with Bernard Luttmer, founded a successful
          student-run business called Course
Cram. Successfully juggling all of these commitments
is a testament of Nathan’s commitment to hard work,
as well as a realization of his own credo:
“The only compensation for a lack of moderation is excellence.” |
